Job Summary:

Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Director of eCommerce will be the leader responsible for delivering direct digital revenue though commercial and operational execution. This leader must be a dynamic and inspiring individual with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong relationship building skills. You will have deep expertise in all facets of eCommerce and bring the benefit of your expertise and industry best practice to the position. You will execute while continually enhancing the processes, systems, and capabilities of the organization to enable us to build and scale this strategically critical sales channel.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Digital Marketing

  • In collaboration with the marketing team, develop a digital marketing and online content strategy that leverages below the line programs to facilitate efficient new customer acquisition and retention programs
  • Execute digital marketing across all channels (e.g., display, email, social)
  • Leverage CRM platform to maximize customer engagement and value
  • Onboard and oversee 3rd party marketing agencies as required

 

Technology and Operations

  • Set annual technology and operations strategy, leading cross-functional teams in on-time deployments to drive business results
  • Oversee management and administration of the digital technical platform
  • Onboard and manage 3rd party technology partners to define, build, test, rollout, and optimize technology solutions
  • In partnership with cross functional partners, establish and track standard operating procedures and service level agreement targets across IT, customer service, and operations

 

Data, Analytics, and Reporting

  • Concept, plan, and rollout comprehensive analytics infrastructure
  • Refine corporate and commercial KPIs and providing actionable reports on an appropriate cadence
  • Ensure consistency in tracking and measurement to demonstrate ROI on digital marketing programs and user experience improvements; ensure all vendors provide correct data which aligns with our standards
  • Oversee online product catalog data management and integrity

 

Business Planning

  • Work with cross functional partners (i.e., product management, sales, marketing, customer service, and operations) to define the 3-year eCommerce business strategy
  • Lead the development of annual plans and deliver revenue objectives while adhering to expense budgets
  • Lead team ensuring all members have goals in support of business objectives; coach and develop the skills of all team members

 

Customer Experience

  • Translate business strategy into a relevant customer experience development plan leading to concrete user experience, content, and technical requirements
  • Continuously test and refine user experience to optimize for commercial objectives
  • Establish digital product management and merchandising strategy and oversee execution and optimization
  • Collaborate with customer service to ensure consistent delivery of the intended customer experience

 

Education, Experience, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of eCommerce experience required
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative style; demonstrated track record of consistently achieving results within a fast-paced environment
  • Deep subject matter expertise on eCommerce operations and technical solutions
  • Strong experience in planning for and driving aggressive growth across marketing, systems, data and logistics; proven ability to work with external technology vendors and internal IT teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the digital landscape and KPI`s, digital marketing, eCommerce and brand strategies, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems successfully
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to listen to understand, and to translate the company/brand strategy to outside partners and enroll them in support of strategies
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Experience with Magento, Salesforce, MSOffice Suite, Smartsheets, Slack and Agile project management
  • Ability to hire and develop A-level reporting staff to full potential and to build leaders for the future
