System One One is seeking a Director of IT Enterprise Architecture for a full-time/permanent opportunity in Tampa, FL. The Director of IT EA will develop the global vision, strategy, and roadmap for overall enterprise architecture to help the company achieve its strategic and business objectives. You will partner and collaborate with a wide range of business and IT partners to lead and facilitate the development of artifacts to guide the business toward a defined future state. You will also partner with business and IT leaders and the architecture team, to assess gaps from the current-state, develop target state architectures, and generate a portfolio of high-level initiatives to close gaps, across the applications, information, technology infrastructure, integration, and cyber-security architecture layers. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the development and ongoing evolution of the enterprise business architecture (EBA), which represents the taxonomies, principles, requirements, and models for the enterprise’s business processes and capabilities.


  • Enterprise Architecture Global Strategy Development and Delivery
    • Lead the development of the Enterprise Architecture guard-rails, strategy, and roadmap and ensure integration with the overall IT and enterprise strategic plans through coordination with the Senior Director, IT Cybersecurity and Technical Services.
    • Lead the identification and analysis of enterprise business drivers to derive enterprise business, information, technology and solution architecture requirements; analyzing industry, technology and market trends to determine their potential impacts on the enterprise.
    • Partner with business, IT leaders and subject matter experts to assess current-state business architecture and identify gaps between the current and desired future-states. Lead and participate in the development and management of high-level projects or initiatives to close the gaps between the current and future–state architectures, including technology road maps, proposed change projects and target metrics.
    • Define a clear vision that enables business innovation for the organization through the use of technology
    • Ensure alignment between business and IT needs and objectives while focusing on best practices, awareness of emerging trends and striving towards innovative solutions that create a competitive advantage
    • Assess technologies and implement technical architectures to increase business agility and manage complexity
    • Define and help execute forward-looking plans to develop relevant new technology skills and capabilities
    • Maintain currency on new technologies and management practices and provide direction on what emerging IT applications and methodologies should be introduced and assimilated
    • Manage technology obsolescence and vendor risks
  • Stakeholder Interaction
    • Build and maintain relationships with other business and IT leaders to develop a clear understanding of business needs; ensure cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needs and responds with agility to changing business priorities
    • Work and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and contacts to foster a business-oriented culture to ensure alignment between IT and the business functions and to directly contribute to goals and objectives.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to maintain the technology roadmap and to manage the development pipeline
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, develop and coach the Enterprise Architecture team to continually improve IT capabilities necessary to increase performance of the organization. Provide timely and constructive feedback on a regular basis to ensure employees have a clear understanding of their work, roles and the business. Manage performance issues when necessary. Work with employees on their career development plans. Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the Enterprise Architecture team
    • Lead the team to adopt agile development methodologies to deliver required services to the business
    • Foster a business-oriented culture and mindset within the Enterprise Architecture team driven by a continual service improvement approach
    • Ensure that all Enterprise Architecture services and processes (including those of external service providers) are conducted in line with policies and applicable standards, legislation, and regulations (e.g. TTB, Sarbanes-Oxley, GDPR, HIPAA etc.)
    • Work with the IT leadership team to plan future skill needs to acquire and develop the appropriate mix of business, data and process knowledge, technical skills and competencies.

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or related field
    • 10+ years of experience in at least two IT disciplines or 5 years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture, business analysis or business strategic planning.
    • Deep and practical understanding of the IT architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices
    • Strong strategic planning capabilities (processes, tools, deliverables, collaboration with architecture) and credible relationship management experience
    • Knowledgeable in designing and constructing business processes, functions and organizational structures
    • In-depth experience with process redesign methods (such as business process re-engineering, Six Sigma or total quality management) and modeling tools. Understanding of BPM, workflow and integration methods and tools.
    • Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development
    • Understanding in innovative business model, vision and processes
    • Familiarity with basic graphical modeling approaches
    • Ability to translate business needs into EA requirements
    • Ability to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new trends and technologies
    • Ability to remain neutral towards technology, vendor and product choices, as well as to be more interested in results than in personal preferences.
    • Must be a self-driven, motivated senior IT leader with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and good customer and executive presence
    • Strong motivational leader that possesses a hands-on, lead by example approach with the ability to lead a fast-paced IT team of both full time and contract staff
    • Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding and the “discuss-decide-support” philosophy
    • Ability to travel up to 10% of time domestically and internationally
