Currently seeking an experienced marine electrical engineer to join our marine engineering group in Seattle, WA or Providence, RI. Education and Certification:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in one of the following: marine engineering or electrical engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure in a relevant discipline is expected.  Applicants without PE license that meet the experience requirements of professional licensure may be considered.

Requirements:

• Minimum three (3) years of experience in a maritime design environment, consulting engineering experience is preferred. 
• Proficiency with industry standard power systems analysis software package (SKM (preferred), EDSA, eTAP, or EasyPower) to perform short circuit studies and protective device coordination studies.
• Experience preparing electrical power system design documents including electrical power loads analysis, power system one line diagrams, and contract specifications.
• Lighting system calculations and design.
• Familiarity and knowledge of the maritime regulatory environment and submittal processes, shipboard systems operation and design requirements, field work (shipchecking and shipboard systems performance surveys), shipyard practices, and contract specifications.
• Experience managing small to medium-sized projects including client communications, leading engineering teams, assigning tasks, managing scope and budget, scheduling, and developing proposals.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Ability to understand and contribute to resolution of a wide range of technical issues outside traditional marine engineering disciplines, including naval architecture (structure and stability), machine design, and/or drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Rhino3D, or equivalent CAD program.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software packages. 
• Proficiency with tele-communication tools to coordinate with engineers in multiple office locations. 
• Shipboard and/or shipyard construction experience is not required, but considered a plus,
• Must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, we will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas.
