Title: Industrial Engineer II

Location: Exton, PA
-analyze data from a variety of sources to identify sources for improvement and elimination of waste.
-Data sources include but are not limited to: ERP/MRP data (labor, yield, material usage), in process equipment and processing data, batch release testing data, time studies.
-Utilizing these data sets, they will coordinate with Operations, Quality, Finance, and others to optimize efficiency of manufacturing processes and facility utilization.
-Identify and optimize product/process variables required for maximizing performance (availability, output, yield).
-Gather data and report on product/process performance.
-Analyze large data sets and perform statistical analysis to identify variables of interest.
-Compare expected versus actual processing data to flag variances and correct as needed and ensure validity of manufacturing standards.
-Build dashboards and other visual management tools for data trending and KPI visualization.
-Conduct time studies and scrap classification on manufacturing processes to identify production bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
-Analyze inventory data to optimize inventory usage, just-in-time purchasing, and OWC.
-Assist with master data configuration and maintenance to allow effective usage of MRP.
-Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing.
-Evaluate, identify and recommend/implement improvements (productivity, efficiency, reliability) to existing processes (melt, chemical, biochemical, and mechanical processing) or products.
-Support Operations to address facility layout, equipment placement, resources, and start up milestones for flow optimization.
-Implement LEAN tools into operations to streamline processes and maximize value.
-Create training programs and systems to sustain and monitor improvement project benefits.
-Conduct and implement continuous improvement on projects/processes to achieve improvements in efficiency, productivity, yield and/or reduction in operating costs.
-Data mining through various device history file, in process measurement data, and other sources to identify key processing variables and their impact on final product.
-Execute the job within the applicable copmany, GMP, OSHA, EPA, ISO, FDA, CE, & other requirements.
-Complete other tasks as assigned.
-Update product/process documentation within the Engineering Change Notice process.
-Plan prototype and lab/pilot trials for scale up or process improvements.
-Support Manufacturing Excellence (MSA, OEE, IP, IER, DICI).
-Develop engineering test files (ETF), design control & risk management reports as appropriate.
-Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering – Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Materials, or related field
-2-6 years of experience in Medical Device or related industry
-Proficient in the use of MSOffice, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Minitab, CAD Software, and SharePoint
-Demonstrated project management experience. Ability to apply Project Management techniques according to PMP. PMP Silver training preferred
-Extensive knowledge and expertise of products/processes used in medical device environment.
-Extensive knowledge and experience working with manufacturing machinery and tooling in a medical device environment or related industry.
-Extensive knowledge and expertise working with Engineering & Quality tools (Statistics, Lean Six Sigma, DFM, DOE)
-Working knowledge and experience working with the Regulatory pathways associated with IDE, 510k, PMA, & CE including the associated ISO & ASTM standards.
-Extensive knowledge of electrical wiring schematics, electrical diagrams as well as PLC & PC programming.
-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.
-Industrial scale hands-on experience with process optimization focus.
-Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and design experiment in the Lab to evaluate opportunities.
-Understanding of financial and accounting requirements in projects
