Title: Medical Information Specialist - III

Location: North Wales

Schedule: 8am to 5pm Mon – Fri.

Start date: ASAP

Responsibilities:

  • The GMI Senior Specialist is a headquarters-based role within Global Medical Affairs, who is responsible for the 3 global core functions of the GMI group
  • Medical Information (e.g., customizing medical information letters to respond to U.S. HCP inquiries, handling of escalated complex global HCP inquiries, etc),
  • Medical/Scientific Review of U.S., and HQ-created globally used Promotional Materials
  • Medical Information (e.g., customizing medical information letters to respond to U.S. HCP inquiries, handling of escalated complex global HCP inquiries, etc.)
  • Scientific Review of U.S. and HQ-created global Promotional Materials
  • Medical Education and Training of frontline personnel (e.g., U.S. Call Center) on Merck products and associated diseases

 

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MS in Life Sciences) that is relevant to the requirements of the position
  • Some knowledge and therapeutic area experience in Oncology
  • 3-5 years experience in Medical Information and/or Medical/Scientific Review of promotional materials in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare environment
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, statistical concepts, and evaluation and interpretation of complex scientific literature
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Deep experience working in Medical Information and/or prior biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Advanced knowledge and therapeutic area experience in Oncology
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and systems for Medical Information and Promotional Review
  • Strong knowledge of clinical trial methodology, statistical concepts, and evaluation and interpretation of complex scientific literature
  • Negotiation skills for interaction with cross-functional teams
  • Work experience in Medical Information and/or Medical/Scientific Review of promotional materials
