Our client has a Direct-Hire job opportunity in Hornell, NY for an experienced EHS Engineer. This position offers Salary, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k & PTO!
Establish & Monitor EHS plan to prevent accidents/incidents and environmental damages on the project and ensure compliance with EHS regulations and customer requirements.
•Drive the risks assessment and environmental impact analysis for the field activities (installation and T&C) including fire and natural catastrophe.
•Prepare, implement and maintain the project emergency plans / Drills.
•Alert the Project Manager / Supervisors in the line of environmental incidents, non-compliances and complaints.
- Develop Project EHS Management System:
•Establish and maintain the project EHS management plan and associated documents in compliance with regulations, CLIENT standards and contract requirements.
•Organize waste sorting out, collection and disposal in compliance with the applicable legislation.
- Reporting and Accident/Incident investigation:
•Report Project accident, incident and near miss according to the CLIENT requirements.
•Analyze EHS Project accidents, incidents and near-miss and issue proposed action plan.
•Report monthly to Management the Project EHS KPIs.
•Prepare, review and or approve environmental reports and assessment.
•Assure compliance with local law / regulation and CLIENT Standard for the Project.
•Manage Site relationship with the authorities.
Audit and Inspection:
•Coordinate technical inspection of equipment / tools, concerning EHS.
•Check the daily application of the EHS management plan by all project members (including subcontractors).
•Conduct EHS inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
•Perform environmental inspection and audit of subcontractors in the field and when relevant off-site (e.g. for waste disposal companies).
•Create Site EHS awareness, prepare EHS induction program and ensure their correct deployment & application
•Prepare the Training plan / Matrix and implement it in the site.
•Degree in Engineering: Preferred Civil/Electrical/Mechanical or any other relevant Engineering Degree
•Training certifications relates security
•Minimum 3-5 years of overall Experience
•Health, Safety and Environmental protection legislation and regulations and standard ISO 14001 and OSHA 18001
•Experience of site inspection, audit reports and NCR close out reports. Hard work able to work under pressure and team's leader.
•Experience of risk assessment and environmental impact analysis and survey; knowledge of tools and methodologies.
•Experience of Health & Safety management (asbestos, noise, temperature, chemicals, vibrations, repetitive strain, working posture end effort etc; lockout tagout, electrical safety, machine safety, work at height, excavation works, lifting operations, vehicles movements, permit to work etc)
•Experience of environmental impacts management (waste, energy, water, soil and groundwater contamination, air pollution, hazardous substances management, noise,...)
•Experience of incident investigations and root cause analysis, definition of corrective and preventive action plans
•Experience in inspection and auditing
•Knowledge of crisis management for natural events and industrial catastrophes
