Position Overview: An Avionics Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electronic systems and components in aircraft. They ensure that avionics systems operate efficiently and safely, meeting regulatory and performance standards. Avionics Technicians play a critical role in ensuring the functionality and reliability of aircraft electronic systems. 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspection and Testing: Conduct routine inspections and testing of avionics systems to ensure proper functioning and compliance with regulations and manufacturer specifications.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks on avionics systems, including communication, navigation, radar, autopilot, and other electronic components.
  • Installation and Integration: Install, configure, and integrate avionics equipment and systems into aircraft, following technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications.
  • Calibration and Alignment: Calibrate and align avionics systems to ensure accuracy and reliability, utilizing specialized tools and equipment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and equipment status. Generate reports and documentation as required by regulatory authorities and company procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, pilots, engineers, and support staff to address avionics-related issues and ensure effective communication throughout the maintenance process.
  • Compliance and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols, regulatory guidelines, and quality standards in all aspects of avionics maintenance and repair operations.
  • Training and Development: Stay abreast of advancements in avionics technology, regulations, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development activities.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to aircraft avionics-related emergencies and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance programs and initiatives to maintain high standards of performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or certification in avionics technology or related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license or relevant certifications in avionics maintenance.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience working with avionics test equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic instruments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
