Stable South Bay Company is seeking a talented
Human Resources/Safety Manager to join
their organization

Responsibilities:

  • Talent acquisition including recruiting, sourcing, and vetting potential candidates
  • All facets of on-boarding (benefits, payroll, background checks, drug testing, offers, etc.)
  • Employee relations (disciplinary actions, terminations, harassment, warnings, etc.)
  • Assist Sr. Leadership Team in identifying employees capable of being promoted
  • Compensation and workforce planning
  • Oversee company’s policies and procedures
  • Employee training and development
  • Ensure that company stays in compliance with all Federal/State HR laws, OSHA/Cal OHSA laws (Federal/State), COVID-19, etc.
  • Management and oversight of Health, Safety and Wellness initiatives
  • Heads up the “Fun” committee by driving culture, scheduling/executing “morale boosting” events for all departments (health and wellness, company and holiday events, community involvement, employee of the month, birthdays/anniversaries, etc.)
  • Responsible for safety training/safety compliance and overseeing the safety committee
  • Workers Compensation issues
  • Make sure employees are up to date on safety training and certifications

Experience, Skills, Education and Abilities:

  • 5+ years of HR and Safety experience
  • Some college or HR Certification preferred
  • Extensive training & familiarity of Federal/California HR Laws
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish; both oral and written
  • HR experience in a Manufacturing or Warehouse/Plant environment
  • Union experience a plus
  • MS Office proficiency
  • Benefits and payroll experience preferred
  • Outgoing, kind personality. Good listener
  • Excellent multitasker with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent attention for detail, with good follow-up skills
  • Capable of acting as a good leader
  • Ability and willing to take on additional executive/administrative duties
  • Ability to interact with all levels in the organization

Work Schedule

  • Office hours are typically Monday-Friday 8am – 6pm (8-hour day/salaried position)
  • Outside of these typical days/hours, HR/Safety Manager may be asked to attend periodic training sessions, off-site seminars, and/or after-hours meetings with Leadership team.
