The Piping Designer is responsible for the technical support, organization and execution of a variety of consulting engineering assignments with primary responsibilities in the field of piping engineering and design.
Responsibilities:
- Following in-house standards and specifications for piping design; preparation and support of mechanical/piping design documents.
- Work within design specifications
- Develop and maintain strong working relationship with internal project team members and external clients.
- Provide cross functional technical support in areas of piping design.
- Familiarization of with various industrial design codes and standards.
- Prepare for review technical memos, investigation reports, drawings, procedures, laboratory testing programs, maps and engineering assessments.
- Utilize in-house and licensed software for data management and report preparation.
- Assist and perform 3D laser scanning of piping.
- Develop Plant 3D/AutoPlant/Smartplant scale model.
- Develop electronic pipe specification for Plant 3D
- Project setup in Plant 3D
- Provide conceptual drawings, piping models and bill of materials for estimates
Requirements:
- 5+ years working experience.
- AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Smartplant
- Able to conduct detailed calculations to ensure that designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes
- Industries: Refinery, Mining, Power plant, Chemical plants, O&G
