The Rowland Group, a System One division, is looking for a Transportation Project Engineer for an Engineering Consulting Firm in Tulsa, OK. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to work for a company that is committed to partnerships and exists to energize communities.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the portion of the project within the transportation area of expertise
- Work with the Project Manager to make estimates for proposals and assist in the preparation of proposals
- Perform site evaluations and document review as needed to proceed on projects involving existing infrastructure
- Work with the Project Manager to develop design concepts, task lists, schedule, and probable construction costs
- Determine the applicable requirements of the Project and clearly communicate them to the team members
- Develop design concepts from schematic design development and work with project team to produce construction documents
- Produce sketches and layouts for complicated design tasks for inclusion in construction documents Communicate to the technicians producing the contract documents
- Select locations requiring details to show design intent and develop the details to the level required
- Generate an engineer's estimate of probable construction cost of the project and/or alternatives when part of the scope
- Review the construction documents for completeness and consistency with company and client standards prior to sealing the documents or submitting to the Engineer of Record
- Follow scope of work, budget, schedule and report changes to Project Manager
- Perform project construction observations for general conformance to the construction documents and generate a list of potential omissions or defects for the Project Manager
- Review construction submittals for conformance with design
- Review change order submittals and contractor proposals
- Provide a preliminary review to the Project Manager for approval
Requirements:
- More than 5 years of experience in transportation, specifically ODOT standards and practices
- Licensed PE in the state of Oklahoma
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficient in the use of Bentley Products, including MicroStation and Open Roads preferred.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
