Accounts Receivable Lead 

Houston, TX

 

System One is currently seeking an Accounts Receivable Lead on a 6 month Contract to Hire position located in Houston, TX.

 

Accounts Receivable Responsibilities:

  • Perform accounts receivable (billing) functions for a variety of government and commercial contracts
  • Maintain accounts receivable records
  • Responsible for all aspects of training
  • Monitors daily team workflow to ensure critical deadlines are met and acts as a resource for billing department questions
  • Identifies and resolves billing issues and acts as back-up to Accounts Receivable Supervisor when necessary
  • Process all aspects of accounts receivable (billings) for a variety of government, commercial, and non-profit customers related to various kinds of contracts and customers
  • Oversees work flow of accounts receivable department staff to ensure accuracy and ensure necessary deadlines are met
  • Assists supervisor by participating in candidate interviews for hiring new employees
  • Conducts training for new hires and provides on-going training for staff in accounts receivable department
  • Provides input on employee competency and performance
  • Analyze billings and prepare additional reports as required
  • Answer accounts receivable phone inquiries and follow up
  • Assists with related special projects, as required
  • Assists team members as necessary
  • Provides quality customer service, including interacting with internal/external customers and co-workers to effectively handle concerns or weaknesses
  • Sustain a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members with prompt conflict resolution and working effectively as a team
  • Lead employees to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, and goal accomplishment

 

Accounts Receivable Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • One-year certificate from college or technical school or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Accounting and Invoicing)
  • Experience with Styline
  • Working knowledge of accounting processing software (JDE is preferred), an internet browser, Excel, and any word processing software
  • Experience with meeting and maintaining month-end, quarter-end, and year-end deadlines
  • The aptitude to plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures to develop speed, quality, and productivity
  • Must have the aptitude to maintain an environment that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, development, and high performance
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a department and department staff members
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the organization's management team that provides leadership and direction
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel
  • Evidence of the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent organizational management skills
  • Management experience in a team-oriented workplace preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic invoicing, collections, reconciliations, and accounting principles and practices
  • The skill to share knowledge, train and enhance employees' skills, performance, productivity and quality of work
  • Knowledge and experience in business, supervision, and management
  • Better than average written and spoken communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills
  • The capability to coach team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas training
  • The ability to differentiate useful and less useful details to maintain productivity
  • Must be able to empower employees to take responsibility for their jobs and goals
  • Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback
  • The ability to evaluate and research data and draw reasonable conclusions from a set of standards

 

Duration: 6 months contract to hire

Location: Houston, TX (77036)

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $25.00/HR
