System One is looking for an experienced NDE/NDT Level III located in Houston, TX for part-time/as-needed Level III work. Must have previous CP-189 and Section XI Level III certifications. ASNT Level III certifications are preferred.

Summary of Position:

Discipline Level III staff will develop and / or approve inspection procedures, internal / external company specific quality programs, material condition integrity programs, and inspection guidelines. Provide inspection result interpretation and consultation as requested.

Level III personnel administer practical examinations for the NDE or other inspection disciplines that they are qualified for. Level III personnel are also frequently required to deliver class room training in the SOTC environment, or special training sessions as required.

Personnel in this job are required to develop and implement project specific QA/QC plans and condition assessment inspection plans, in accordance with the applicable System One procedures, codes, standards, and customer specifications.

Responsibilities/Job Functions:

  • Safety is first; all safety procedures will be completely understood and followed.
  • Proficient at developing and implementing System One NDE and other discipline (VT, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc) procedures in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, customer specifications and System one Quality Program requirements.
  • Personnel must be able to present themselves in a professional manner to the customer staff including senior management, project managers and customers technical staff at  all levels.
  • Stay informed on industry and code changes to ensure that System One programs remain in compliance.
  • Evaluate technology advances and applications to improve the service capability of System One Quality Solutions operations.
  • Prepare, administer, and evaluate certification examinations for applicable discipline tests.
  • Provide advice, interpretation, and oversight to level I and II inspection staff.
  • Complete inspection and daily reports when required for assigned tasks.
  • Maintain NDE experience time log to support certification requirements.
  • Understand, enforce and abide by all System One policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required training, including tests to maintain Level III certifications within System One guidelines and applicable industry standards.
  • Maintain time-sheets and submit as required.

 Required Experience/Education:                                                                                 

  • At a minimum a high school diploma, GED, or College Certification is required. Technical college degree desirable.
  • Selected individuals will possess documented classroom training hours in: RT, UT, MT, PT, and VT from an accredited NDE school, in addition to relevant industrial experience in a sufficient quantity to satisfy System One program and industry standards for Level III certification.
  • Selected individuals will have minimum 10 years’ experience in applying NDE techniques in industrial, manufacturing, and power generation environments.
  • Must have basic computer skills including navigating in windows, word, excel and power point.

Required Certifications:

  • All safety training in accordance with System One Safety Manuel.
  • A minimum of Four of the following Level III certifications in RT, MT, PT, VT, UT, ET, IWE / IWL, Mechanical, Civil Structural, API 510, 570, 653, NACE , ACI , or ICC certifications.

 Physical Demands and Work Conditions                                                                 

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to lift and carry lightweight to heavyweight objects.
  • Climbing and working off of ladders, stairs, and scaffolding in excess of 100 ft and working in confined spaces can be an occasional part of some projects.
  • Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time.
  • The job is generally performed in a combination of office environments, class rooms, and within heavy industrial environments including a variety of fabrication, construction and operating plants. The environmental conditions can be indoor, outdoors, hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.
