Director of Manufacturing
Summary: Responsible for the daily operation associated with the manufacture of all processing, packaging, and labeling equipment. This role is responsible for all production planning, scheduling and process improvement associated with manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other managers and leadership to set and assess priorities across manufacturing.
- Assess cost effectiveness and feasibility of processes and implements recommendations to reduce costs, improve efficiency and enhance departmental communications.
- Develop quality measurements using continuous improvement methods; root cause analysis and after-action reporting should be utilized to address issues and successes.
- Plan and implement order, job and labor schedules to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, regulations and guidelines including OSHA requirements.
- Create inspection processes for quality assurance of components and final product.
- Coordinate between manufacturing and engineering to ensure both departments improve product quality and communications between both, as well as other organization departments.
- Oversee the use of company ERP, ensuring all production and product meet delivery deadlines and customer specifications.
- Prepares projections and implements departmental annual budgets and resources.
- Hire, train, coach and evaluate staff on a regular basis. Supervision should include goals, performance measurement, competency and wage administration.
Requirements,:
- 15 years plus of manufacturing and operations experience for Electro Mechanical Equipment.
- Team building skills: Material Requirements Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning and BI-skills production planning and inventory management machining.
- Minimum 5 years of management and supervisory experience required.
- Firm understanding of manufacturing planning techniques, including knowledge of material flow and job shop processes.
- Lean manufacturing certification preferred.
- APICS/CPIM certification preferred.
- Intermediate skill with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Dynamics 365.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively present and communicate information and ideas, strong verbal and written communication skills.
