Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Scientific Infrastructure Team in supporting the scientific community.  Our Scientific Infrastructure Team is responsible for enabling High Performance Computing and its associated infrastructure, scientific applications and instrumentation, and end-user support. 
In this role, a typical day will include:
•    Creating, maintaining, and reviewing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, Python, and other scripting languages to manage High Performance Computing clusters across multiple sites.
•    Working with mixed physical, on-prem virtual, and cloud servers and systems.
•    Working closely with a team of around eight highly experienced HPC and DevOps engineers through daily stand-ups, agile tools, and GitHub pull-requests and code reviews.
•    Maintaining multiple 1000+ core high performance compute clusters designed to support genomics, molecular dynamics, cryo-EM analysis, proteomics, phylogenetics, and AI/ML research.
•    Developing and implementing innovative and complex solutions, ensuring that upgrades and changes comply with established guidelines and processes.
•    Monitoring and reporting on cluster performance.
•    Installing and configuring complex bioinformatics applications.
•    Collaborating with researchers understanding their scientific pipelines, implementing efficient, technical solutions
•    Advising on HPC technology directions and investments and making technical presentations to other technical personnel and department leadership

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•    BA/BS or equivalent and 10 years related experience or a MS and eight years’ experience.
•    Minimum of five years of experience with Linux/Unix variants, especially RedHat/RHEL and its derivatives
•    Scripting experience in Python and other languages (e.g., bash, R, Perl, Ruby)
•    Automation/configuration management experience with Ansible and Terraform.
•    Significant experience with git/GitHub in a team DevOps environment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / NICE TO HAVE
•    Experience working in Agile managed projects.
•    Experience supporting high performance clusters with Grid Engine (in any variant) or Slurm Workload Manager
•    Experience with assisting researchers with configuring job submission scripts. 
•    Good decision-making skills and leadership ability to assist with management of project portfolio and daily operations for team.
•    Knowledge of GPU computation and CUDA
•    Experience in customer collaborations involving scientific research supported by high performance computing infrastructure.
•    Experience supporting scientific applications and ability to compile, package, install, and upgrade software as well as troubleshooting application issues.
•    Experience managing HPC software with Spack, EasyBuild, Modules, or other common HPC tools.
